§ 23-55.5. Truck parking in residential zones.

  • In all residential zoning districts, the parking of tractor-trailer trucks, either the tractor or trailer, whether coupled or uncoupled, is prohibited on public or private property. Tractor-trailer trucks are those commonly called a "semi", one (1) unit, the tractor, being the power unit and another unit, the semitrailer, carrying the freight, and having a GVW of thirty-three thousand (33,000) pounds or greater. The temporary parking of a commercial vehicle that is parked temporarily in conjunction with a commercial service, sale or delivery is permitted. Violations of this section shall be a misdemeanor, punishable pursuant to section 1-10 of this Code. Each day a violation continues shall be a separate offense.
